Holz, geschnitzt, polychrom gefasst und vergoldet. Sizilien, 18. Jahrhundert. Darstellung des Kalvarienberges: Felssockel mit Kreuz und Schlange. Schlange mit Apfel die Erbsünde repräsentierend. Aufsteckbares Kreuz einen Ast nachahmend. Fassung des Sockels die Maserung von Jaspis nachahmend. Aufwändige, vollplastische Gestaltung. Möglicherweise Teil einer Kreuzigungsgruppe. Gesamtmaße: ca. 75 x 40,5 x 16 cm. Historisch wertvolles Zeugnis der christlichen Andacht.

Wood, carved and painted polychrome, gilded. Sicily, 18th century. Depiction of Calvary: rocky base with cross and snake. Serpent with apple representing the original sin. Push-on cross imitating a branch. Paint of the base imitating the pattern of jasper. Elaborately and sculpturally worked. Presumably part of a crucifixion group. Overall dimensions: c. 75 x 40.5 x 16 cm. Historically important testimony of Christian devotion.
