Fabrication National Automotive Detroit Michigan. Marquage latéral indiquant que le sac contenait une voilure camouflée. La voilure est manquante. Sangle marquée GSW. Ensemble monté d'origine jamais démonté, ni touché. Sangle de couleur verte devenues jaune par la décoloration solaire. Ceinture ventrale marquée GVM correspondant aux initiales de Georges Van Horn Mosely commandant du 502ème PIR de la 101ème Airborne. Ensemble daté du 8 septembre 1943. Trace de morceaux de caoutchouc sur les sangles. Pochette du livret partillement déchirée, livret manquant. A noter une certaine patine et usure de la pièce. Ensemble laissé dans son état de découverte. Pièce retrouvée dans le double fond d'un placard à Boutteville, commune voisine de Sainte Marie du Mont. Illustrée page 9 du livre 75 objets du Débarquement de Normandie. Attestation originale de provenance signée de Bertrand Paris jointe avec un exemplaire de l'ouvrage. In strong OD canvas. The dorsal pad survives, but not the ties. The straps to which the rigging was attached are present. The suspension lines are the original cut. The flap bears the number 42 1025778. Manufactured by the National Automotive Company Detroit Michigan. Lateral markings indicating that the bag once contained camouflaged parachute silk. The parachute silk is missing. Strap marked GSW. The whole kit is in its original state, never undone or touched. The strap color was green and has faded to yellow through contact with daylight. Front-mounted belt marked GVM corresponding to the initials of Georges Van Horn Mosely commander of the 502d PIR of the 101st Airborne. The whole kit dated September 8, 1943. Traces of rubber on the straps. Booklet cover partly torn, the booklet itself is missing. Note some patina and wear on the item. The whole kit is as found, kept under the false bottom to a cupboard in Boutteville, a neighboring village to Sainte Marie du Mont.
