IMPORTANT HALLOWED WAX OF URBANO VIII BARBERINI, FIRST HALF OF THE 17TH CENTURYoval shape with bas-relief decoration. Within reserve in glass black decorated with leaves in gold and cartouche with inscription of concession to the Monastery of Santa Maria del Gesù, in date 1638. Frame in eighteenth-century ebonized walnut. Measures wax, cm. 17 x 13.PROVENANCENoble Roman familyThe wax belonged to the Easter candle in the seventh year of the Pontificate of Pope Urbano VIII (Maffeo Barberini 1623 -1644). It represents the Ascension of the Virgin with the inscription 'Vitam Praesta Puram I e para tutam'. On the backside there is the image of the Agnus Dei with relative inscription. Always on the back we find the dedication with inscription 'Giovan Francesco Pieralli stato Ordinario (confessore) di questo monastero, donò a D.M. Eletta Faini Abbad, a questa cera benedetta 7 marzo 1749'IMPORTANTE CERA BENEDETTA DA URBANO VIII BARBERINI, PRIMA METÁ XVII SECOLOa sesto ovale con decoro in bassorilievo. Entro riserva in vetro nero con decori a foglie in oro e cartiglio con iscrizione di concessione al Monastero di Santa Maria del Gesù, in data 1638. Cornice in noce ebanizzata settecentesca. Misure cera, cm. 17 x 13.PROVENIENZANobile famiglia romanaLa cera era parte del cero pasquale nel settimo anno del Pontificato di Papa Urbano VIII (Maffeo Barberini 1623-1644). Reca la raffigurazione dell'Ascensione della Vergine con la iscrizione 'Vitam Praesta Puram I e para tutam'. Nella parte inferiore troviamo l'arme papale Barberini e al retro l'immagine dell'Agnus Dei con iscrizione relativa. Sempre sul retro troviamo il biglietto dedicatorio con iscrizione 'Giovan Francesco Pieralli stato Ordinario (confessore) di questo monastero, donò a D.M. Eletta Faini Abbad, a questa cera benedetta 7 marzo 1749'
