An East Javanese Keris, with 19th century blade.
Asal (origin): Madura
The Keris with a straight hand forged Wilah (blade), consists of Pamor steel forged in different layers of iron (pattern type: ‘Lar Gangsir’). Dapur in ‘Brojol’ shape. Wilah with fine. Nickel Mendak (cuff), between hilt and blade. Ukiran (Keris hilt) in ‘Kagok Solo’ shape, and carved from Pelet Nyamel wood. Warangka (sheath) of ‘Gayaman Gabel’ type (‘kidney’ shaped). Warangka and Gandar both made from Pelet Mbelang Sapi wood, patiently carved by hand.
Length of the blade, including ‘Pesi’ (tang of the blade): 40.4 cm. (1x)
