Willem Elisa Roelofs jr. was a student of his father Willem Roelofs and of the Akademie for Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague. He painted, made watercolours, draw, etched and lithographed mainly still-lifes. Roelofs jr. Was a member of ‘Arti et Amicitiae’ in Amsterdam and ‘Pulchri Studio’ in The Hague.
