Martinus Antonius Kuytenbrouwer was a respectable landscape and animal painter who painted from a hobby. He was a member of the Association of the Provincial Utrecht Society and of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam. He never sold his paintings, but regularly took part in exhibitions.
