A Russian icon "Seeking Out the Lost" in a silver okladRussia, early XIX century. Wood, gesso, gold leaf, tempera. Size 29 X 26 cm.Condition: multiple tinting of the paint layer, lost crowns of the image of the mother of God and St. Basil. A notable feature of the icon is multi-figure compositions of saints revered in Russia. The fine painting of clothes and the miniature execution of details allows us to attribute the creation of the icon to a large iconographic center. High collectible value, a rare custom-made icon.The Holy wives - Barbara, Anna the Prophetess, Mary of Egypt and Mary Magdalene are placed in the upper register. Saints Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian, John Chrysostom, Antipas, John, Andrew of Crete, and John the warrior are placed below. ИКОНА В СЕРЕБРЯНОМ ОКЛАДЕ «ВЗЫСКАНИЕ ПОГИБШИХ» С ПРЕДСТОЯЩИМИ СВЯТЫМИ.Россия, начало XIХ в. Икона в серебряном окладе «Взыскание погибших» с предстоящими святыми. В верхнем регистре помещены святые жены - Варвара, Анна Пророчица, Мария Египетская и Мария Магдалина. Снизу - Святые Василий Великий, Григорий Богослов, Иоанн Златоуст, Антипий, Иоанн, Андрей Критский и Иоанн воин. Дерево, левкас, сусальное золото, темпера. Размер: 29Х26 см. Россия, XIХ в. На нижнем бортике окладе стоят клейма: «Хлебниковъ» под двуглавым орлом; пробирного мастера «А.А» над датой 1891 - Арцибашев Анатолий Аполлонович; 88 пробы и герб г. Москвы. Сохранность: множественные тонировки красочного слоя, утрачены венцы у богородичного образа и у святого Василия. Примечательной особенностью иконы является многофигурные композиции из почитаемых на Руси святых. Тонкая разделка одежд и миниатюрная разработка деталей позволяет приписать создание иконы к крупному иконописному центру. 6. TEMPORARY IMPORTATION
6.1. Any Lot marked with a symbol “plus (+)” are “free port” and are subject to import tax.
The Buyer intending to import the aforesaid Lot into the European Union should be aware that an import tax will be due on the Hammer Price.
This import tax shall be paid to Hermitage Fine Art in addition to other fees
(e.g.: 5.5% for antiques and works of art in Monaco).
6.2. Any other Lots are in free circulation within the European Union.
6.3. The Buyer shall be responsible for checking and fulfilling all the conditions for the transportation of the Lots to their destination, including, but not limited to, checking the import status of the Lots, and the regulations for importation at destination.
2. The following lots are subject to Artist's Resale Right (an additional 3% will be added to hammer price)
