A FRENCH INFANTRY HANGER FOR A CHILD AN IX, EARLY 19TH CENTURY
Origin: France.
Length 53,4 cm, blade 44,4 cm. Weigth (with portepee) – 315 g.
Blade: Straight single edged blade of lentil cross section.
Handle: Cast from one piece of brass, forming a guard, pommel and grip. Closed guard with front quillon bent down and ending in form of small oval. Grip with smooth back and cross grooves. Pommel with pronounced cap and tang rivet.Original fabric knot.
Scabbard: absent.
Condition report: average condition. Blade cleaned, with traces of corrosion, scratches and dents. Handle with pitting, scratches and dents, with more dense patina (in places green) in indentations.
