AN AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN M1861 INFANTRY OFFICER’S SWORD WITH GERMAN PRODUCED BLADE.
KuK Infanterie-Offizierssäbel Muster 1861.
Origin: Austro-Hungarian Empire, after 1861.
Blade: steel slightly bent single edged blade with one wide fuller both sides. Partially damaged maker’s mark on ricasso: SOLINGEN / W&ST for Weyersberg & Stamm.
Closed steel hilt, yelman pf steel plate, finished one side with cylindrical finial, other side reaching the pommel. Long back strap from the pommel to ring above the yelman. Grip of wood covered with a fish leather, fixed with twisted copper wire.
Scabbard missing.
Total length – 91 cm; length of the blade – 79 cm; width – 20 mm; thickness – 6 mm.
