A rare painting of Our Lady of Loreto, Italo-Cretan painting, tempera/wood, 17th/18th
century, 35,5 x 30,7 cm, frame: 46 x 42 cm // The picture, painted on thin wood, shows the
Mother of God crowned by two angels. In the background is the house of Loreto, which
according to legend was the house in Nazareth where Mary grew up and received the
Annunciation. It was miraculously transferred to Loreto by angels. Below you can see two

35,5 x 30,7 cm, Rahmen: 46 x 42 cm
Das auf dünnen Holz gemalte Bild zeigt die von zwei Engeln gekrönte Gottesmutter. Im Hintergrund schwebt das Haus von Loreto, welches der Legende nach das Haus in Nazareth gewesen ist, in welchem Maria aufwuchs und die Verkündigung empfing. Es wurde auf wundersame Weise von Engeln nach Loreto übertragen. Unten sind zwei Heilige zu sehen, rechts ist der hl. Hieronymus zu erkennen. Provenienz: Süddeutsche Sammlung.
