Der hl. Johannes der Almosengeber (um 550 - 619) heiratete früh, verlor aber seine Frau und seine Kinder. Darauf verteilte er sein Vermögen an die Armen. Von 606 bis 616 war er Patriarch von Alexandrien. // Der Oklad ist aufwendig aus Silber gefertigt und weist keine Silberstempel auf, er ist von einer vom Stempelzwang befreiten Werkstatt hergestellt worden. // Provenienz: Norddeutsche Privatsammlung
