mehrfarbig glasiertes Keramikrelief, verso schwach lesbar signiert, ohne Jahr, Maße: 30x30 cm
Selten! - Oskar Manigk received artistic instruction from his father Otto Manigk and, at times, instructions from Otto Niemeyer-Holstein. After a carpenter apprenticeship he was a guest student at the Berlin Weissensee Art Academy from 1956 to 1957 and from 1957 to 1958 at the Institute for Art Education in Greifswald, where his uncle Herbert Wegehaupt held a professorship. From 1958 he worked as a freelance artist. At first still working in front of nature, he increasingly broke out of "the idyll". The external circumstances with their adversities and arguments increasingly found their way into his paintings. From the late 1960s, he turned increasingly to the time of his formalistic branded non-objective art. He received recognition in 1993 with the award of the Caspar David Friedrich Prize of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, in 2005 with the award of the Culture Award of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern for his life's work and several exhibitions on the occasion of his 80th birthday in 2014. - Early small-plastic work of the artist.
