Hans Becher besuchte von 1924 bis 1929 die Akademie für Grafik und Buchgewerbe Leipzig, und legte dort das Staatsexamen für Malerei und Grafik ab. Von 1929 bis 1945 war er als freischaffender Maler in Leipzig tätig. Nach Kriegsdienst und Kriegsgefangenschaft war er von 1945 bis 1948 Lehrer in Leipzig, von 1948 bis 1951 in Karl-Marx-Stadt und von 1951 bis 1958 Dozent an der Fachschule für angewandte Kunst in Leipzig. Von 1958 bis 1961 war er Direktor an der Fachschule für Heimatmuseen in Weißenfels/Saale, von 1961 bis 1972 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Zentralhaus für Volkskunst in Leipzig. Ab 1972 war er freischaffend als Maler und Grafiker tätig. Er war Mitglied im Verband Bildender Künstler. 1953 beteiligte er sich an der Deutschen Kunstausstellung in Dresden, in den Jahren 1954 bis 1985 wiederholt an den Bezirkskunstausstellungen in Leipzig. - Hans Becher attended from 1924 to 1929 the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig, where he passed the state examination for painting and graphics. From 1929 to 1945 he worked as a freelance painter in Leipzig. After military service and prisoner of war he was a teacher from 1945 to 1948 in Leipzig, from 1948 to 1951 in Karl-Marx-Stadt and from 1951 to 1958 lecturer at the College of Applied Arts in Leipzig. From 1958 to 1961 he was a director at the College of Natural History in Weissenfels / Saale, from 1961 to 1972 research assistant at the Central House of Folk Art in Leipzig. From 1972 he worked freelance as a painter and graphic artist. He was a member of the Association of Visual Artists. In 1953 he participated in the German Art Exhibition in Dresden, in the years 1954 to 1985 repeatedly at the district art exhibitions in Leipzig.
