DHARMAPALA HAYAGRIVA
Fire gilt bronze. Nepal, 20th century
An effective and elaborate depiction cast with the krodha deity Hayagriva, with four legs, and in his six-armed manifestation, bearing three heads, stumping on human bodies, surrounded by flames, his hands holding danda, some vajra and a flaming element; the figure cast with Garuda wings and a snake with vajra, he is shown embraced by the Yogingi in sexual union, holding skull and trident; mounted on a decorative lotus throne, vishvavajra below.

Komplexe, wirkungsvolle Darstellung der Krodha-Gottheit Hayagriva. Sie ist vierbeinig, hat sechs Arme und drei Köpfe, trampelt auf Menschenkörpern und ist flammenumlodert. In den Händen Danda, mehrere Vajra und ein flammendes Element. Er hat die Flügel des Garuda, die für ihn typischen Pferdeköpfe im Haar sind nicht ausgeführt, dafür eine Schlange mit Vajra. Seine tantrische Partnerin umschlingt ihn mit einem Bein, die sexuelle Union ist dargestellt. Die Yogini hält in Händen Schädelschale und einen Dreizack. Aus einer österreichischen Privatsammlung
