Federal Inlaid Mahogany and White Pine Pembroke Table, Rhode Island, 1790-1815. Two leaves with rounded corners open on wrought hinges to form oblate top with continuous string-inlaid border and double-string edges, supported by cut-out brackets knuckle-hinged to outer rails of straight apron, the center board attached with pocket screws to inner rails, the case containing one frieze drawer inlaid with square herringbone border and serrated bottom edge that continues around tops of legs, which are each inlaid on two sides with engraved bellflower and dot motif inside pointed cusp of string-inlaid border, which continues down tapered legs to high inlaid cuffs above feet on casters, a chalk inscription on underside of top reads, 'Levi [?] / Cab\t Maker', extended, 101cm wide, 81cm deep, 76cm high (40 1/4in wide, 32in deep, 30 1/4in high).
