Paris Summer Olympics Vase, Sèvres, France, 1924. Porcelain vase made for gold medalists at the 1924 Paris Summer Olympics, of elongated ovoid form with a short neck, the exterior decorated with overglaze gilt foliate on a cobalt ground, and encircled below shoulder by a chain of four medallions with pâte-sur-pâte depictions of cycling, tennis, sailing, and shooting, the bottom stamped 'RF Manufacture Nationale Décoré à Sèvres 1924', 'S 1924 DN', and 'Made in France', ht. 13, diam. 5 1/2 in.
