A RARE STAINLESS STEEL MANUAL WIND CHRONOGRAPH WRISTWATCH Model: Anti-Magnetic Chronograph Reference: 2508 Date: c. 1937 Movement: 17-jewel manual wind Dial: Silvered Case: Round, snap on case back, No. 418292 Strap/Bracelet: Brown leather Buckle/Clasp: Stainless steel buckle, signed Signed: Case, dial, and movement Size: 35mm Accompaniments: None Footnotes: The Rolex Reference 2508 was in production in the 1930s and 40s and represents a quintessential pre-Oyster case Rolex chronograph. There are multiple variations of dials for the reference, and two types of cases, one with oval pushers and one rectangular. The present example features the later rectangular pushers and smaller 35mm diameter, and retains a lovely aged silver dial with varicolored scales and is a lovely example of an early Rolex sports watch.
