Einlieferer vom Künstlers direkt erworben. Dt. Maler u. Grafiker; gilt als einer der wichtigsten dt. Vertreter der Pop Art u. des Fotorealismus. 1931-35 Malerlehre. Ab 1936 Stud. a.d. Staatl. Ak für graph. Künste in Leipzig, davor Besuch der Graph. Fachschule Berlin. Ab 1938 wieder in Berlin, ab 1951 vorwiegend als Grafiker für Verlage u. Werbeagenturen tätig. Anschließend Wiederaufnahme seiner eigenen künstler. Arbeitals freischaffender Maler. 1963 entstehen Straßen- und Verkehrszeichen-Bilder, ein Jahr später die ersten Plakate.
