Grande orologio da appoggio in bronzo dorato di epoca Luigi Filippo, per il mercato turco. Quadrante in smalto bianco, con cifre turche, firmato L. De Swart à Louvain. Cassa riccamente decorata in stile orientale con vetri colorati incastonati. Movimento di pregevole qualità, con scappamento ad ancora e suoneria delle ore e delle mezze. Circa 1840. Un esemplare praticamente identico e realizzato dallo stesso autore, proveniente dalla collezione Yves Saint Laurent et Pierre Bergé, è stato venduto in asta da Christie’s nel 2006. An important Louis-Philippe ormolu striking clock for the Turkish market. White enamel dial, with Turkish numerals, signed L. De Swart à Louvain. The case is richly decorated in oriental taste, with coloured glass inset. Fine movement, with recoil anchor escapement, striking hours and half hours. Circa 1840. An almost identical clock, made by the same maker, from the Yves Saint Laurent et Pierre Bergé collection was auctioned by Christie’s in 2006. H 67 cm
