Il soggetto è una figura femminile tratta dalla celebre scultura di 'Amore e Psiche' di Antonio Canova (1757-1822), conservata al Museo dell'Ermitage. Quadrante guilloché in numeri romani, firmato Galle - Rue Richelieu n. 43. Movimento francese con regolatore a pendolo, suoneria delle ore e delle mezze. Francia, circa 1820. A yellow marble and dark patina bronze French mantel clock, portraying a classical female subject, inspired by a part the well-known 'Love and Psyche' sculpture by Antonio Canova (1757-1822), at the Ermitage Museum. Engine-turned dial with Roman numerals, signed Galle - Rue Richelieu N. 34. French movement, striking hours and half hours. France, circa 1820. H 56 cm.
