Miguel García López has a long career of exhibitions and awards to his credit. He alternates his professional career with teaching painting in Eivissa and Sant Josep. He considers himself self-taught, learning from classics and moderns to extract from it a personal work. Landscapes, peasants, Ibizan corners and whitewashed walls are some of his themes. Since he was a finalist for the Art Jove Govern Balear Painting Prize in 1999, he has regularly received awards. Here are the most recent ones: Finalist Present Contemporary Art Florence-Shangai December 2013; Finalist III prize of autumn painting Joven de Ibiza y Formentera, First prize of fast painting Ibiza, Selected XVI Certamen de dibujo Gregorio Prieto, Selected VIII Certamen Internacional de pintura Joven Fundación Barceló, Finalist Certamen de arte Can Pou Ibiza.
